Hooked On Polarized Fishing Sunglasses

Wiley-X Polarized Sunglasses

Polarized sunglasses offer many advantages while fishing.

You can pack your tackle box with tons of innovative fishing gear and accessories, but when you get down to it, the real enjoyment of fishing is spending a day at the lake, river, or even ocean, relaxing and spending some time with your thoughts or in the company of friends. After a long day of casting, you want to be telling the tales facts on all those unbelievable catches you had on your line. Fishing Sunglasses go a long way in ensuring your great day of fishing stays, well, great. Chances are pretty high that a buddy of a buddy of yours has had the painful experience of getting a hook jerked back in their face, or the excruciating hook-in-the-eye. Preventing injury is just one of the reasons why we always recommend fishermen and women wear fishing sunglasses.

Fishing eye injury

Polarized sunglasses can help prevent serious eye injuries.

  • Prevent Injury – How many times have you gotten your line stuck on some brush while casting out, or stuck under a rock or around a stick in the lake? Sure, you can cut the line, but you want to first see if you can jerk it out to keep your hook and bait intact. You quickly pull the line back, and if you’re lucky, it jerks back – right near your face. It goes without saying that you only have one set of eyes, so keep future fishing days alive and well by wearing fishing sunglasses every time you fish.
  • Sun Protection – Did you know polarized lenses actually gained their popularity from fishing and boating? Polarized fishing sunglasses block out that glare you would normally see on a lake, allowing you to quickly pick out areas where fish are congregating or where that big catch is lurking in the water. Several of our Edge Polarized Fishing Sunglasses and Wiley-X Polarized Fishing Sunglasses feature ANSI Z87.1-2003 certified polarized styles, ensuring you’re protecting your eyes from the harmful UV rays, while also giving you sharp, clear detail when you look out over that lake.
  • All Conditions – It’s nice to fish when it’s a beautiful day outside, but who says you can’t have an excellent fishing day even when clouds are filling the sky? Polarized fishing sunglasses feature different lens color tints that are ideal for different lighting conditions. Choose amber fishing sunglass lenses to wear on those low light days so you can still have a great day at the lake, even if it the sun isn’t showing her face.

It’s hard to believe that fishing once involved just a pole, fishing line, a hook, and some bait. These days there’s electronic fish finders, power assist reels, and a different rod for every kind of fishing. Fishing Sunglasses have evolved over the years too, to reflect more modern polarized fishing sunglasses styling, and many even feature ANSI Z87+ certification. So before you say “Gone Fishin’”, make sure you’ve got those Polarized fishing sunglasses in your tackle box.

ONO’s Customer Says, “Fish On!”

We recently received an email from a customer who had purchased a pair of ONO’s Polarized Bifocals.  She was so thrilled with the results that she took the time to send us these comments below.

I bought my ONO’s Carabelle Polarized Bifocal Sunglasses so I could sit in the sun on vacation or near the pool and read a book while wearing sunglasses; and they worked great for that.  But today I took them out fishing for blue gill.

Wow, I am never heading to the lake again without them.   I used to wear my sunglasses while casting and then have to switch over to my prescription glasses to bait my hook.  Always fumbling; pole, fish, glasses……

Today I hit the water with my ONO’s and it was the most peaceful fishing experience I’ve had in years. The polarized lenses made it easy to see the fish beds and the all-over vision was clear and the color was true. When I needed the close-up vision for the bait, it was right there, no fumbling for a second pair of glasses.

My husband was having trouble repairing a broken line so I had him try my ONO’s.  He liked them so much he said he needed to get a pair.  ONO’s come in powers from +1.50 to +2.50 but the +2.00 I have seemed just right for him, too.

Actually, I think I will give him mine because I have my eye on the ONO’s Breton Polarized with the amber lens. (Yeah, I little bit more money, but I am worth it!)

Thanks Safety Glasses USA and thanks ONO’s!
