If you’re looking for safety eyewear that meets your needs both on and off the job, consider Uvex Acadia. They’re sporty and come in several lens options.
Mike, an employee at a rubber company, put aside his “very cheap and simple safety glasses” to try out the Uvex Acadia. He wears safety glasses constantly on the job and spent time working production in a lathe cutting area when trying out the Uvex Acadia for this review.
Great Comfort & Fit
Mike immediately noticed the great fit and feel of the Uvex Acadia. This is likely in part due to the soft, ribbed nosepiece and thinly padded temples. The lightweight frame probably also plays a role in the comfort of these glasses.
But what stood out the most to him was what Uvex calls “Uvextreme Plus coating.” Uvex claims the lenses offer a superior anti-fog and anti-scratch performance. What does Mike say?
“It felt like my face could breathe, where the old ones tended to fog up a lot.”
Uvex’s anti-fog lens coating offers long-lasting fog free vision they say lasts up to 10X longer and provides 2X better scratch resistance than their next best coating.
Additional features of the Uvex Acadia include their thin temples, making them great for use under hard hats. They also offer 99.9% UVA/UVB light protection.
2 Thumbs Up
When asked about any drawbacks, Mike really did not have any as far as the performance of the Uvex Acadia.
After some thought about any negatives of the eyewear, Mike thought the price might be a bit high. Though the Uvex Acadia only cost just over $8, that is a little more than the couple dollar basic eyewear Mike previously wore.
One suggestion Mike has for improving the Uvex Acadia as a product is to offer more color options. While the lenses come in a variety of colors, the frames only offer two, brown and black.
Mike definitely gives the Uvex Acadia “2 thumbs up” and says he plans to continue wearing them at work.
